Story starts 5000 years ago
The precious Kohinoor Diamond is mined in medieval times in the Kollur mine located in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. This was stated in a Sanskrit script, where it was called as “Syamantaka Mani”.
1200s - 1300s
From here it is under the ownership of several rulers and finally reached to the great Kakthiya Empire Rajah of Marwah in 1306.
1323
After the fall of Kakathiya Empires Era, the precious jewel comes under the tenure of the Delhi Sultanate.
1526
After Delhi Sulthnate it passes towards the great Mughal Empire Babur for the next 200 years.
1739
Later the Mughal Emporor defeated by Nadir Shah and took it off to Persia. Where it placed on his Peacock Throne.
1800
After Nadir shah death, the great Diamond takes his grandson Shah Shuja in Punjab, where it protected until the British take control.
1851
Lord Dalhousie who is the Governor General of India when India ruling by the British. He exhibits this precious jewel at the Crystal Palace, London. Later it cuts from 186 carats to 105 carats.
1936
